What to Expect at Smile ConfiDENTAL
Your First Visit to Our Strathfield Dentist Office
When you visit a new dental office for the first time, it can seem a bit intimidating. At Smile ConfiDENTAL we understand. That’s why we want you to know exactly what to expect when you arrive to our Strathfield facility.
New Patient Exams
Depending on what you are coming in for, your new patient exam with Dr Elias will go one of two ways:
1. Check-ups
If you are due for a regular check-up, Dr Elias will complete a comprehensive examination, consultation, and take any necessary x-rays. The visit lasts for approximately one hour. If any treatment is necessary, we will create a customised care plan to start as soon as the same day.
2. Emergencies
Emergency patients will still receive an overall general exam, but we will address your treatment need at the time of the appointment.
Existing patients can have access to emergency dental care 24/7. Dr Elias will take steps necessary to help you alleviate your pain and discomfort as quickly as possible.
During your exam, Dr Elias will assess the following:
- Periodontal attachment
- Existing restorations
- Health of your teeth
- Aesthetic concerns
- Pain and discomfort
- Alignment of your bite
- Function of the TMJ
All new patients will need to complete necessary paperwork, including a medical history form for us to better understand the background needs of each person. We will post this information out to you in your New Patient package when you book your first appointment.
There’s No Need to Feel Nervous
Dr Elias is great at helping to put your mind at ease. As he talks you through your condition, you will become more comfortable with the procedure. He does his very best to assure that your experience with us will be a pleasant one!
Nitrous oxide gas is also available, should you feel anxious. It is perfect for conscious relaxation and an option during any routine dental procedure.
